Asking for and Receiving Support

No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting from scratch. To be successful, we absolutely, positively have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals.
~ Brian Tracy
It may sound counter-intuitive, but asking for support is a leadership act. It is a recognition of the fact that we simply cannot do it alone. And life is too short for us to take the lone warrior approach.

One of the lessons I’ve learned is to get support. Get it early and get it often. Recognize that you have strengths and areas where you do not have strengths. Surround yourself with others who compliment you. Seek out those who have strengths you do not have instead of trying to spend forever working on your weaknesses.

One of the best gifts you can give yourself is the gift of a wise mentor or coach. This should be a person you respect, maybe even look up to in some way. They should be a person who recognizes your gifts and can help you unleash them to create something great in the world.
